Footnotes

Syntax

leaf renders standard Markdown footnotes:

Here is a statement with a footnote[^1].

[^1]: Footnote content goes here.

Rendering

Footnote references appear inline as superscript numbers. Definitions are rendered at the bottom of the document with reciprocal links back to the reference.

Multiple footnotes are numbered in order of appearance, and each definition can span multiple paragraphs.
